Dr. Thy Nguyen ("Dr. T" to his staff and patients) was born in Vietnam. He moved to the United States when he was eight years old and grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland. After earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The George Washington University, Dr. Nguyen received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland Dental School in Baltimore. He graduated in the top of his class, was selected for the Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society, and was elected president for the Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society, a merit-based organization.
